National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energys National Nuclear Security Administration, has an immediate opening for an Electronics Engineer for Livermore Operations (LO) Electro-Optics Systems Engineering Group Section at NSTec and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) facilities. Work location is in Livermore, CA. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
Successful candidate will provide customer support, production, checkout, test and characterization of electro-optics equipment in a multi-disciplinary environment. Systems include imaging CCD and imaging diagnostics streak cameras for various customers; design, install, maintain, operate and upgrade electro-optics laboratory equipment and field equipment including lasers, cameras, timing systems and computer-based data acquisition and analysis systems; perform analog & digital systems and circuit design in support of electro-optics systems development; write test procedures and documenting performance results for various equipment and systems
Successful candidate shall possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or field related to the position or equivalent training and experience; knowledge of electronic circuit design, computer-aided design, analysis, test and measurement techniques, pulse circuitry, digitizers, high-voltage design and HV safety; knowledge of lasers, light sources, fiber optics, detectors, micro-channel plate intensifier (MCPI) tubes, photographic film, CCD cameras are a strong plus; must possess strong writing and verbal skills to generate progress reports, technical reports, design reviews and interfaces with customers; potential for project and team leadership skills. Knowledge of IBM/PC, CAD Circuit Simulation and Modeling (OrCAD 16.2), LabVIEW, and related computer-based data acquisition systems are a strong plus.
